TRIVEX and Varicose Veins
Trivex is the name of a system for removing varicose veins through only two or three small cuts rather than many cuts. Mr Braithwaite has evaluated the technique to see if it is better than some current methods of varicose vein avulsions. Mr Braithwaite has used TRIVEX on several patients all but one of whom have been able to return to normal activities within a few days of the operation.
Although TRIVEX has some advantages over traditional avulsions, the reduced bruising and time saved in the operation is not enough for Mr Braithwaite to recommend its use, except for specific cases.
